SGI AND ALTAIR RENEW OEM AGREEMENT

PBS Professional Continues as SGI’s Workload Manager Based on Success of Initial Three-Year Term FRANKFURT, Germany, July 13, 2015 – Altair today announced that SGI® has renewed its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreement naming PBS Professional® as SGI’s workload manager and job scheduler with global support provided by Altair.

Originally signed in 2012, the renewed agreement makes it possible for SGI to continue integrating Altair’s PBS Professional® scheduler on SGI High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems in a more cost-effective manner, endeavoring to maintain favorable costs as system sizes and CPU-core counts continue to increase.

“We have collaborated with Altair to enable our customers to effectively manage and scale their workloads and efficiently solve their most complex challenges. This collaboration has brought unique features to the combination of Altair’s PBS Professional and SGI’s System Management Suite,” said Gabriel Broner, vice president and general manager of High Performance Computing Business Unit, SGI. “The ratification of our agreement will allow us to continue providing unique solutions for our customers to ensure they are able to grow with their production supercomputing needs.”

“SGI’s renewal of their PBS Professional OEM agreement signals the value of PBS Professional as an embedded workload manager for their HPC systems,” said Piush Patel, VP of Global Partner Programs for Altair. “With PBS Professional as SGI’s scheduler, SGI is better positioned to offer a winning solution to customers seeking reliable, scalable systems for their HPC environment.”
